History, Future and Product Range!
This week I have looked at Monsoon's History their products and their plans for the future.
I was surprised to find that Monsoon originated from a stall on Portobello Market selling shagggy coats and hand bold printed clothes! It just seems to be so distant from the brand they are today, basing themselves on luxury.
I was also interested to see that they are very concious of their 'Monsoon Look' and they like that their clothes have a distinctive look about them, I agree with that, as I think you can always tell when someone is wearing a dress from Monsoon or a dress from elsewhere.
The Queens Award and Contacting the Press Administrator
I have found that Monsoon was awarded the Queens Award back in 2007; this award is considered to be one of the most prostegious awrds in the UK and the company gains many benefits from winning,such as worldwide recognition and extensive press coverage. I contacted Joanna Marsden the Press Administrator for Monsoon, asking for any information that she could divuldge, but unfortunately she informed me that it was against company policy to give any information out. So I will next attempt to contact the store manager for the Southampton shop and try and get any extra information that they are willing to give me! Hopefully it will be more successful that when contacting the Press Administrator.
